Organization - Safety

Nautical Service Centre

Before everything, the Groningen Seaports have to be safe ports for the vessels visiting. With respect to this, the Nautical Service Centre (NSC) – the vessel traffic control centre - takes a key responsibility. The NSC uses modern and advanced systems to direct vessels in a safe way into the ports and to avoid possible accidents. A Vessel Traffic System supports the NSC in her activities.

Port Security

Nowadays, Port Security is an important subject for the ports. Stimulated by the government, the Groningen Seaports work on a plan for safety. This plan has to lead into a port authority where accidents and suspicious cases (can be or) have to be reported. In addition, companies have to take specific measures like the placing of fences and camera control. This all has to contribute to reduce the chance on possible criminal activities in the Groningen Seaports. Additional information could be found by clicking on Port Security.
