On April 11 BioMCN received a subsidy of € 110,000, – granted by the province of Groningen. BioMCN will invest in a new method for production of bio-methanol, an important biofuel. The investment enables this chemical company to inject green CO2 from waste-based biogas production into the methanol reactor at BioMCN. This project leads to an increase in production capacity by 15,000 tons of bio-methanol. It also provides additional employment.
“This investment fits very well with our strategy for “greening” the chemical industry, thereby preserving jobs for the region,” noted Deputy Patrick Brouns. “The investment also shows that the industry creates innovative solutions.”
“Together with the province of Groningen and the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs we worked hard to contribute this project for the subsidy programme of the RIG program,” said COO BioMCN Paul Compagne.
