Farmsumerhaven is an inner harbour with an open connection to Eemskanaal. The port is mainly intended as a temporary berth for waiting inland vessels.
The port has a length of 400 metres and a width of 300 metres, with a depth of 5.5 metres compared to KP. To the north of the inner harbour, there is a 150-metre quay and Farmsumerhaven also has jetties and mooring posts with a total mooring length of 1,165 metres.
