Sponsorship terms and conditions Sponsorship request

Groningen Seaports receives many requests to sponsor different types of events, associations, and good causes. As it is not feasible to sponsor them all, our key starting point is not to sponsor for sponsorship’s sake. It means we make carefully considered choices. Something in return from you is more important to us than the choice of a ‘sponsor option A, B or C’. For example, we really appreciate those who request sponsorship to help with the annual clean-up action in our ports on World Cleanup Day. This provides added value for all concerned.

Groningen Seaports is an organisation that takes its social responsibility seriously, and we want to make a constructive contribution to the Delfzijl/Eemshaven region across the board. We want to contribute to the port and the industrial area, but also to the quality of life of the residents in the local villages. Therefore, we actively contribute with sponsorship to organisations and events in the sphere of culture, sports, and leisure within an area of approximately 10 kilometres from our offices in Delfzijl and Eemshaven.

Sponsorship conditions

Every year, we receive many requests for sponsorship. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept all the requests. Therefore, we apply a number of conditions.

Description

Your application contains a clear description of:

  • The organisation and/or activity in question
  • The reasons why you are asking for sponsorship
  • The nature and extent of the requested sponsorship
  • A list of any other sponsors
  • A proposal for a gesture on your part

Principles

We only process application forms that have been completed in full.

  • The organisation/association is located in a radius of ten kilometres around our offices in Delfzijl and Eemshaven
  • The activities are associated with culture, society, or sport
  • The activity is acceptable in the context of the standards and values of the local community
  • The application has been received by us no later than two months before the start of the activity
  • One application can be accepted per organisation per year

Exclusions

The following are excluded from sponsorship:

  • Individuals
  • For-profit applicants
  • Applicants with a questionable reputation
  • Activities that are harmful to the environment and/or unsafe
  • Activities of a political or religious nature
  • Activities that are at odds with the aims in our port vision 2030
