Buss Terminal Eemshaven has expanded its terminal area and heavy-duty quay side access, which positions it as the key player in offshore wind logistics in the European North Sea. The expansion incorporates the addition of about 15-hectares of heavy-duty storage area and 200 m quay-side connecting to the Beatrixhaven, complementing the existing footprint of the terminal and further strengthening the terminal’s role as a key logistics hub for handling offshore wind and other heavy-duty components.

Expansion with additional Infrastructure
The new 15-hectare heavy-duty area capable of loads up to 30 tons/m² enhances the terminal’s capacity and flexibility to serve the Offshore Wind sector as well as other industries in need of flexible logistics and storage solutions. The new area includes shared priority access to the Beatrixhaven heavy-duty quay capable of handling up to 30 tons/m² and it directly connects to the terminal’s existing areas and quay in the Julianahaven.

Strengthening the Terminal’s Role in Offshore Wind and beyond
“We are pleased to announce that Buss Terminal Eemshaven has grown to become the largest offshore logistics terminal operator in the European North Sea,” said Marc Wegman, Managing Director of Buss Terminal Eemshaven. “This expansion will allow us to meet the increasing demands of our clients, particularly in the offshore wind sector, and to continue to provide flexible logistics solutions across a range of industries.” With the combined total area of 460,000 m² Buss Terminal Eemshaven provides additional capacity to service a broad range of customers with logistics needs, including offshore, onshore, and breakbulk operations as well as general cargo. The terminal has its own specialized equipment available such as reach stackers, heavy-duty cranes, and SPMTs. An experienced team of planners and technicians ensures efficient, precise and safe handling of components of any kind. With the new addition of area, the terminal will also be able to accommodate more customers with their short-term needs for capacities and services. The additional area is available now and can be requested.

It not only strengthens Eemshaven’s position as a leading logistics hub for the offshore wind sector but also contributes to the broader economic development of the region. This investment enables us to further enhance our role as a sustainable energy hub in the North Sea and create new opportunities for businesses and employment.”
