A new liner service between East Coast Sweden, Northern Holland and The Humber commences in 2015. Baltic Euro Lines is a joint venture established between two prominent Norwegian shipping companies, Seafront Maritime AS and Kopervik based, Northwest Ship Management AS. The service will commence operation with one multi-purpose side-port vessel, MV Skog, with a cargo capacity of approximately 4,100 tonnes. The route will incorporate the ports of Oxelösund situated on Sweden’s east coast, Eemshaven, Northern Holland and The Humber, UK.

Baltic Euro Lines Managing Director, Jan Rune Loevlie, commented “We established the fortnightly service to fill a gap we see in the market today and in the future, for transporting predominantly industrial type cargoes between Sweden, Holland and The Humber, UK. Our side-port vessel gives us tremendous flexibility to accommodate loose on board goods, out of gauge cargoes and containers of all types”. The liner operation and commercial activity will be managed from Kristiansand with support being provided by the Northwest Ship Management and Baltic Euro Lines UK hosted by Grimsby based Seafront Logistics Limited, part of Seafront Group AS. The Line will have local representation at the ports of Oxelösund and Eemshaven.

Seafront Maritime AS is a division of The Seafront Group AS which is a family owned business headquartered in Kristiansand, Norway where it operates a terminal at The Port of Kristiansand and recently announced heads of terms on an investment in a terminal operation at The Port of Larvik based on The Oslofjord. Seafront operates domestic trucking services and air & sea freight forwarding services in Kristiansand as well as having investments in infrastructure facilities and coaster type ships. Seafront has a joint venture operation with Pentagon Freight Services PLC in oil & gas global logistics covering Scandinavia and Poland and has its own logistics and consultancy investments in Grimsby, UK. Northwest Ship Management AS is a ship owning and operating company based in Kopervik, Norway. Their expertise is in the operation of multi-purpose side-port vessels for general cargo and container capacity.
