NortH2 welcomes Eneco and OCI as collaborative partners

As part of its One Planet strategy, the energy company Eneco has decided to join NortH2 as an investment partner. Eneco is aiming to play a major role in the project’s goal of developing the green hydrogen market quickly throughout the supply chain. Making the industrial clusters in north-western Europe greener through green hydrogen is a key focal point.

The fact that the international group OCI is at the same time developing specific plans together with NortH2 to introduce the first integrated value chain for green ammonia and methanol in its Dutch plants shows just how real the industrial demand is for green hydrogen on a large scale. These two partnerships underline the need to move quickly towards integrated development for the entire green hydrogen value chain.

“We’re really happy that Eneco is joining us, and with the green hydrogen strategy of a major player like OCI,” says Erik Mobach, the project leader for NortH2. “Strengthening our Joint Study Agreement like this is nicely in line with our goals for hydrogen and it underlines the positive discussions we’re already having in other industrial sectors that are also considering switching to green hydrogen. As I see it, broad cooperation like ours is needed for accelerating the energy transition and achieving the climate targets.”
