MHI Vestas establishes O&M-base at DHSS Facility in Beatrixhaven
MHI Vestas will use the offshore service hub in Eemshaven as the base for its turbine commissioning and subsequent 15-year O&M works on the 269 MW Deutsche Bucht wind farm. Notably, Deutsche Bucht will be the first offshore wind farm worldwide to test the Mono Bucket foundation structure under commercial operating conditions, with plans to feature two V164-8.4 MW in such conditions. In all, the offshore wind array will feature 33 V164 wind turbines from MHI Vestas and will generate enough sustainable energy to meet the needs of over 178,000 households. It will reduce C02 emissions by over 360,000 tonnes per year, supporting the German government’s CO2 reduction targets.

With DHSS, we have found a partner with a demonstrated history of working in Offshore Renewables as a provider for vessel and port agency, warehousing and helicopter logistics. The brand new DHSS support base in Eemshaven, with temperature controlled warehouse, fluid tight yard and office facilities has been delivered end of 2018 and will welcome its first O&M related client.
“Port of Eemshaven is geographically ideal for the installation of offshore wind farms in Germany and North Netherlands. With this company milestone we’re demonstrating that the facility is also an A1 utilized port for both commissioning and O&M phases.
