The works for the COBRA electricity cable between Denmark and Eemshaven are going according to plan. The cables will reach Dutch soil to the north of the NorNed converter station. NorNed is the sea cable link with Norway. The link will be put into operation in 2019. TenneT is also involved in the preparations for a new high-voltage station, the ninth in Eemshaven. This station (Eemshaven-Midden) is needed to connect new wind farms to the electricity grid. It will be ready for use by the end of 2019, when the link to the Eemshaven-Robbenplaat high-voltage station is also completed.
